The Illuminati members sought to replace superstitious beliefs with rational thought, while creating large scale efforts to subvert the Roman Catholic church and Orthodox Catholic church with massive distributions of anti-Christian rhetoric published and sold to thousands of people in Europe during the late-18th century.









The Illuminati is a secret society that was founded by Adam Weishaupt in the Bavarian region of Austria on May 1, 1776. Adam Weishaupt was a professor of Canon law at Ingoldstadt College. The objectives of the Illuminati are to foster rationalism and combat religious dogmas. The power that the Holy Roman empire had over its subjects restricted the liberties of people living in modern day central Europe and eastern Europe giving almost no freedom to people that were not noble class. The objectives of Adam Weishaupt aimed at fostering rationalism and ridding the world of its religious dogmas, was the result of the super high levels of restrooms to human liberties.
