During the late nineteenth century British Colonials with the help of the Afrikkan rose up and fought the British military, and defeated the military might of the British Empire in the southern region of modern day Africa near the Cape of Good Hope. This battle was called the "Jameson Raids." The first signs of democracy were starting to appear on the continent of Africa. A few years later, "The Free and Independent State of the Nation of Orange and the Afrikaans" was established in the southern region of modern day Africa, that had earned its independence from Great Britain. -Mark R.
