Psychologists desperately wanted to be accepted as a real true science. The early Psychologists looked around at what other scientists were doing and sought to emulate them.
Emil Kraepelin lived during the late 19th century in Germany and was the first person to classify what he thought were to be Biological illnesses in the brain.
Dementia Praecox, now called Schizophrenia, Manic Depressive Illness, and Paranoid Psychosis were the only mental disorders classified by Emil Kraepelin.
